Pepperl+Fuchs Turns to Acrolinx for Content Compliance
- by Radu Cotarcea
Acrolinx boasted a new client on September 6, 2016: the Pepperl+Fuchs global process-automation company.
With more than 80 subsidiaries around the world, Pepperl+Fuchs is a leading developer and manufacturer of electronic sensors and components for the global automation market. Pepperl+Fuchs employs over 5,600 people at various sites in Germany, the US, Singapore, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Czech Republic. According to the Acrolinx press statement, Pepperl+Fuchs is using the Acrolinx solution to "ensure that its content is fully compliant with both internal and legal regulations. It also uses the content optimization software to help reduce the burden of translating its content.” The company further claims that “using Acrolinx has raised awareness of branding and terminology company-wide, and has ultimately led to high-quality content in 24 languages. As the company’s content becomes more consistent, words and phrases that have already been translated can be reused, allowing Pepperl+Fuchs to cut its localization costs by one-third.”
Artur Bondza, Head of Product Information Management at Pepperl+Fuchs, commented: "Today, using a corporate language platform is almost inevitable. To meet the challenges of a diverging market and requirements related to legal systems, EU directives, or certifications like the China Compulsory Certification (CCC), investing in a solution like Acrolinx is practically mandatory to compete on an international level."
